"Tajiri's long tail fishing trip" shun

『田尻の尾長釣行』 shun

Location: Cape Sata, Tajiri

Date and time: April 4 (18: 7-30: 14)

Long tide low 10:16 - high 15:54

Water temperature 19.2℃

There was information that large long-tailed gray fish were being caught at Tajiri in Cape Sata, so I went for the long-tailed fish challenge this time.
Thanks to the kindness of the ferry boat ``Tsurumaru-san'', we waded over to the reef with high expectations for ``Sunose no Umi no Mimoto,'' whose tail length had increased by over 60 cm last week.

In front of the fishing seat, you can see a fish caught with a long tail of 74.8 cm.
When you look into the sea from a high place, there are sinking reefs dotted everywhere, and the terrain between the sinking reefs is undulating like an ocean trench, making it look like a long-tailed fish may be hiding there.

Makie is able to cast long distances and wants to catch fish by floating them, so I blended ``Bakuhi Master Gre,'' ``Ikki Float Gre,'' and ``Krill Boil.''It's a blend that holds together well and sinks slowly.

For the bait, I prepared ``Nama Iki-kun Half-Boiled'' as the main one, and ``Nama Iki-kun Forpro'' for when the fish are reluctant to eat.

Gimmick
Started with float G2, mainline No. 2, trace No. 3, and Onaga-hook No. 5.

It's a fishing spot with a proven track record, so I'll be fishing with trace No. 5 all day long!

When I scattered the ground bait under my feet, what came were small fish and bait eaters.
As expected, it's a long tide, and it feels like it's slowly flowing to the right and stopping repeatedly.
Two hours had passed since the start and I got nothing, but when I was making the float drift around the sinking waters off the coast with one rod full distance, I finally got something!
The one that pulled well was a cautious sea chub.
I guess Makie is listening to me, but I get hit every time with this one, but the hook doesn't catch.

Now, when I changed the bait from boil to "Nama iki-kun forpro"
The float was sinking vigorously, and I finally succeeded in hooking a fish!
That was a heavy pull, but I was using a Onaga tackle, so I kept earnestly rolling it.
I got a thick-mouthed largescale blackfish that is 43cm long!
Add the thick part in the same way.
Today I was aiming for the long-tailed largescale blackfish, so the thick-mouthed ones were just bait eaters to me!
I found out that what picked the bait was a thick-mouthed largescale blackfish, so I replaced the bait to the boiled one, and when I kept the float fixed at a half rod full distance, the float sunk in and got a bite! It was a sharp rush, but the one that came up easily was a 34cm long-tailed largescale blackfish, and as expected, if you feed it with a boiled bait, the probability of catching a long-tailed largescale blackfish increases at once.

When the tide changed to a rising tide, the sea became calm like a pond and the tough times continued...
I found a bubble pool ahead of the only place where there was movement (air coming out of the crack on the right)!

When I tried to aim for it, I had a pick frequently, but no bites...
When I changed the bait to raw krill again and tried fishing, there was a bite! I got the expected thick-mouthed largescale blackfish.

I tried with a thick rig until the end, but I couldn't meet a large long-tailed largescale blackfish and had to surrender...
I think I could have caught quite a few if I concentrated on fishing for big-mouthed fish that day.
However, I had no regrets about using the thick rig throughout the day and was able to put away the rod with a refreshed feeling.
The thick-mouthed largescale blackfish I caught had a white roe, so I think I can still aim for more fish.
I hope you find it helpful!
