First fishing trip of the season for greenfish after a long time

I had heard that the water temperature in the open sea was around 27°C and that bait-eaters were active, so this time I took the Tenryu Maru to Oki Kojima in Kinko Bay.

The shallows I descended to were the "wall" of Okikojima

Although the footing is narrow and the rocky shore is thrilling, it is an attractive spot with good tidal flow and a large number of fish.

The ground bait is a blend of the all-purpose "Great Gure" that can be used on all layers, and "Grey Z" that adds hold.

For the bait, I used the "Namaikikun forpro L size"

The rig starts with a 1.7mm main line, 1.5mm leader, G5 float, and No. 6 Gure hook.

When I scattered the bait, I caught a lot of damselfish, small greenfish, and a few parrotfish at the bottom.

It's still summer at the beach...

As the sun rose, I was able to see the fish moving, so I decided to scatter the ground bait from high ground and observe.

The tide was flowing slowly from right to left, and bait-eaters swarmed around the bait scattered upstream, while occasional greenfish the size of a foot could be seen downstream.

Taking this into consideration, I placed 3 to 4 scoops of bait upstream and then placed the rig downstream and once it has settled, added another scoop.

Using this fishing method, I managed to catch several 27cm greenfish!

But the size doesn't increase...

Even when observing the sea, I can't see any large greenfish. Are they just swimming around near the bottom?

While searching the deep waters with a 00mm float and a lead sinker, I got a bite!

The fish caught in the net was a parrotfish...

After that, despite trial and error, I was unable to catch a good-sized greenfish and called it a day...

Although the catch wasn't satisfactory, I was able to enjoy fishing for greenfish for the first time in a while.

I'm looking forward to the future.
