"Fishing trip for the high-class fish, the Japanese snapper" - shun

Location: Akime (quarry)

Date and time: July 15 (18:00-5:00 the next morning)

Neap tide: high tide 23:55-low tide 6:53

This time, it's my first night fishing trip of the year.

I took the ferry "Koumaru" to Akime in Minamisatsuma in search of the delicious and fun-to-catch Japanese sea bream.

The place where we disembarked was a quarry. This is a shallow area with many flat platforms, making it suitable for night fishing.

If you check the shelves while it's still lightAbout two rod lengths in front, and about two and a half rod lengths towards the cove. You can see a submerged reef at the exit of the wand.

After much deliberation, I chose to fish on the side of the cove.

The chum mix is a blend of frozen bait, "Sardine Slices," and "Bottom Attack! White," which attracts fish with its cloudy white appearance.

The bait used was "silver-stripe round herring" and "Nama Ikikun sea shrimp."I use sea shrimp when there are a lot of bait stealers using sardines as the main bait, or when I want to add some variety to the mix.

Fishing Rig

Float No. 2, Main line: No. 6, Leader: No. 10, Hook: Red sea bream No. 11-13

A full-speed guide mechanism that uses a split shot sinker to strike the leader

This fishing method involves thoroughly exploring the edges of the water column.

Since the Japanese grunt is a fish that generally swims near the bottom, you should fish for it by letting the lure float gently along the bottom.

Once the chum starts to take effect and you catch bait stealers like emperor fish or groupers, you can confirm that the depth is correct.

After midnight, I changed my rig to a semi-free-running type and let it drift a little while fishing...Hit! That was a pretty good catch.

Got a sable

I see... Perhaps a semi-guided system is more suitable given the terrain?

The tide started to ebb a little after 1 AM.I cast my line with the current flowing out of the cove and got a hit just before the submerged reef!

The Harris 10 is trading bullishly. And there it was, a joyous catch of a snapper, caught in the net!

After that, I successfully increased the size of the snapper using the same method!

After 3 o'clock, the main target AI ran out of tally stock, so I took a nap and tried to catch some fish at dawn, but to no avail... and had to pack up my gear.

This time, the first catch was a sardine, and the second was a sea shrimp.

This time, I didn't have enough insect repellent spray... and was plagued by mosquitoes.

When night fishing, be sure to take proper precautions against insects and enjoy your fishing trip!
