"Black sea bream during spawning season" shun
Location: Akime (rocky shore)
Date and time: 3 29 (8:00-16:00)
Low and high tide 8:54 to 14:59
This time, I went to the rocky shore of Akime, aiming to catch a plump black sea bream that was about to spawn..
Hirokyu field staff member Hanado-san also accompanied us on this day.
We arrived exhausted after navigating the hilly terrain..
It's practically an offshore reef! I don't have to worry about retrieval time, so I can fish at my leisure.

I set up my fishing spot facing Okiakimejima Island and started fishing..
For the chum, I prepared 'G-MAX' and 'Great Gure' prioritizing long-distance casting and diffusion. I blended in 'White Power Plus' to increase volume and improve cohesion, and it's a lightweight fish attractant that's convenient to carry around when fishing from rocky shores, etc.
As the attached baitFor bait stealers, I use "Namaiki-kun for PRO". I also have "Sashiesa Pro Boiled" on hand to deal with low activity levels or when I want to add some variety.

Rig: Main line 1.7号, leader 1.7号, float 0, semi-floating rig 2 fathoms, sea bream hook size 6.
From my feet to the end of the rod, there was a cape...
However, the area further ahead looks promising, with a nice atmosphere.
When I cast the chum, small greenfish and sea chub swarm at the tip of the cape.
The chum for attracting bait eaters should be placed in the gaps in the cape, and the bait for the target fish should be placed even further beyond that.Long throws are essential.
Fish attractants that cast well over long distances are a must-have item...
I tried a semi-guided line with 2-rods length with no weight, aiming at the tip of the cape, but the hook was empty.
It seems the fish are quite active in catching bait...
When I aimed further ahead, the line was slowly drifting to the left, and when I reeled it in, the bait was still attached.
When using a fully guided G6 motor and letting it drift...
The float sank smoothly and I got a bite!
A greenfish in the 30cm range
Then I got some bites but couldn't hook anything, so I added a G6 and tried to keep the rig taut by letting it drift.HIT!
I managed to get it into the net after dodging the rocks and it was a greenfish over 41cm long.
My 1.7号 leader is falling apart... I'm switching to 2号 leader in preparation for catching a big one..
As the sun rises, activity decreases, and a difficult period follows...
A bite that makes the line run is a parrotfish, while targeting the edges or the bottom will yield silver sea bream or pufferfish.

The key is to fish in the offshore area where there is even a slight current, and to drop the leader to No. 1.5.After carefully searching, I got a bite at a depth of about one and a half rod lengths!
I waited until I felt weight on the rod tip, then I've got a bite!
I somehow added a greenfish.
Just before the end, there was a nice current flowing to the right, and I managed to catch one more fish before calling it a day.
I thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of fishing for greenfish during their spawning season, especially the back-and-forth battle leading up to the hookup.
