Wanting to catch some black sea bream before they spawn, I decided to cast my line from the small breakwater at Wakimotohama Port in Akune City again this time.

I caught another good-sized one this time! I'll try my best to aim for one over 50cm if I'm lucky.

Starting before 6:00 AM, I scattered about 20 scoops of chum bait that I had prepared beforehand, creating a fishing spot directly in front of my fishing position.

This time's bait , which is the same as before, is!

kizamikko

Soko-zeme! Zudon

Nama Sanagi Kurodai

Black Turbo Plus II

the following ingredients mixed.

The bait is!

Namaikikun Twin Pack PRO L size

Namaikikun Twin Pack L Size

Namaikikun Twin Pack Yellow

Meccha-kuu! Series Corn

Sashi-esa PRO L size, that I prepared.

Next, I prepare the tackle.

The rig is,

Rod No. 0

Reel No. 3000

Main line: 1.5

Float 00

Trace No. 1.5 → No. 1.25

Hook: Chinu hook No. 2 → No. 1

The fishing gear is ready, so I started fishing.

After casting my line and observing the current, I started fishing, and the water was slowly flowing to the right.

While I was rearranging the setup around my fishing spot, I suddenly got a bite that pulled the rod down!

I set the hook and fought with it, but what immediately surfaced was a small frog flounder about the size of the sole of my foot!

I gently release it and aim for the next one.

In my previous fishing trips, days when I got a bite on the very first cast often turned out to be tough fishing days, so I wondered if today would be the same. But after a few casts, the float slowly disappeared underwater.

"Bingo!"

I reeled in the excess line, gave it a little twitch, and then the rod bent sharply, so I started fighting it.

As I enjoyed the heavy, powerful pull and closed the distance with the fish, I could see the silhouette of my target, a black sea bream. After dodging several strong pulls, I finally managed to net a 48cm black sea bream.

Today

"Something's different today? Maybe today's a good day?"

Hoping to catch something, I targeted the same current as before, and this time I got a bite that pulled the rod down!

The black sea bream, about 40cm long, was easily caught in the net.

My hunch was right! So far, everything was going according to plan, but...

After that, the tide headed left and right! And out to sea! Once again, I struggled with the constantly changing tides!

Despite adjusting my setup and trying to catch something, I was at the mercy of the current and completely helpless.

I tried my best until 9 AM, just before the tide stopped, but...

This fishing trip lasted about three hours, and three black sea bream and frog flounder bent my rod.

Hmm? I wasn't entirely satisfied with the catch, but that's what fishing is!

Is it okay if I just caught something?

I told myself this, then thoroughly washed away the dirt from my fishing spot and left.
