March 15th, Final Round of Winter Sea Bream Fishing, Takahashi

3月15日 寒グレ最終戦 高橋

This time, young members of the Tsuriken FG Oita Prefecture branch and I went fishing at the designated fishing spot in Yonouzu, Nagata.

One more person joined us at the last minute, bringing the total to five. We were taken care of by the safety-first Komeimaru boat amidst a gentle breeze, big waves, and rough seas.

Actually, this was my first time fishing at Nagata, the designated fishing spot, so I was looking forward to seeing what kind of fishing it would be.

Today's chum is as follows. (I'm worried it might not be enough for a private fishing trip.)

 [Ground Bait]

 Raw krill (3 blocks) / GREAT GURE - 2.5 kg x 1 bag / GMAX - 2 kg x 1 bag / Gure Z (White) - 1.7 kg x 2 bags / Breadcrumbs x 2 kg

 [Bait]

Raw Krill PRO L / Raw Krill in Sugar

We landed on the reef before dawn, and the swells crashing against the shore gave us a refreshing start to the day.

The tide was going out, so I had three young guys take the prime fishing spots for the outgoing tide, and I took a spot next to them. Ono-kun started fishing from a spot on the dock side, facing a strong headwind.

[Tackles and devices used]

Rod: Gamakatsu - Intessa G5 1.25×50

・Reel: BBX Technium 2500DXXG

・Main line: SUNLINE Osyare - 1.5

• Float: Tsuriken - Progress Gure - G7

・Line: SUNLINE - BLACK STREAM Goku - 1.5

• Hook: Gamakatsu - Fine Gre #4

On my first cast, a large current of white water swelled from the left side of my fishing spot, turning the area in front of me completely white. When I cast into the eddy at the end of the current, the float was pulled down slightly. It didn't go any further, so I set the hook...and it was a bite! From the very first cast, a fish of about 45cm was caught in the net.On the second cast, following the same course, the float went underwater—another fish over 40cm!

The fish were biting just as I had imagined, and from there, Ono-kun and I took turns fishing and picked up a few more, and before we knew it, we had filled two coolers and two livewells, with everyone having caught something. There were also lots of fish over 40cm, and it was a fun day enjoying fishing for greenfish in shallow waters for the first time in a while.

I'll be switching to black sea bream fishing next week, so I'm glad I was able to have a good fishing trip at Yonouzu one last time.

While there are some variations in the fishing spots for sea bream in Yonouzu, I think you can still enjoy it until the end of March.

Captain Komeimaru (TEL: 090-7169-5277), thank you for your assistance today.
