"Tajiri Fishing Trip" shun
Location: Cape Sata Tajiri (Yokoze left)
Date and time: 3 10 (7:00-14:30)
Mid-tide high tide 9:49 to low tide 16:28
This time we took the ferry "Tsurumaru" to Tajiri, Cape Sata.
The northwest wind was expected to be strong that day, so we couldn't go to the west side where we could aim for large longtail.
The rapids we descended to are located on the east side, "Yokoze Left"
Yokose Left faces the ocean and there is a big reef sticking out at your feet, so it seems like it would be difficult to reel it in...
I decided to set up a fishing spot facing offshore.
The bait is a mixture of light-weight "Gre Zero" and "Gre Z" to create a cohesive bait with the image of floating the Long-tailed Greenfish.
A blend that is primarily for shallow depth casting.
For the attached bait
"Namaikikun for PRO" L size
Can handle everything from long tail hooks to small hooks
If you're unsure, I recommend the L size.

Rig, main line 1.7, leader 2.5, float G5, semi-guided, onaga hook No. 7

There is a large current at your feet, and beyond that is a pool of foam where the current meets the tide.
The atmosphere is quite nice
I attached a G6 lead weight to the leader and searched for a 2-hiro shelf.
Due to the influence of the current, the rig does not seem to be settling in easily.
As I let the rig flow by casting two additional G6 sinkers, the float slowly sank, the line ran, and I got a hit!
There was a reef sticking out at my feet, so I quickly lured the fish to the boat dock and took it in.
success
A magnificent 38cm tall long-tailed greenfish!
First thing in the morning, I used a thick tackle, assuming I would catch a longtail, and it was the right choice.
After that, I added two pieces of 30cm size.
Once the sun rises, it becomes difficult to finish eating.
I switched to targeting the larger black tuna, lowered the line to 1.7, and searched for a depth of about one rod length, and got a series of bites.
However, the hit point was on the other side of the reef, and while I was able to forcefully reel in the 30cm fish, the larger ones got stuck in the reef...
As the tide was going out, we were hoping for a right-flowing current, but it was always to the left.

In the end, I caught 7 fish, the biggest of which was 38cm, and lost 3 fish...
All the bites were from offshore tide lines, so long casts are necessary.
Looking back, it was a fishing trip that left me with many regrets as I should have used a thick line throughout and aimed beyond the reef.
It's still the season for targeting thick-mouthed greenfish, so next time I'll do my best to aim for one over 40cm!
