February 7th (Saturday) Private fishing trip after a long time in Yonouzu Takahashi
Five of my fishing friends and I went to Yonemizu to catch cold-weather horse mackerel.
We split up and started fishing, with two people going to Saodachi Hanare and three people going to Dosenbae.
I headed to Dosenbae where I expected the fishing to be sluggish at this time of year.
I cast my rod at Dosenbae two weeks ago, but by 10 o'clock there was not a single sign of fish, so I used the patrol ferry to change the fishing spot and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of fishing I'll have this time.
The water temperature was rising rapidly to the upper 18°C.
Fishing starts around 7am.
We will fish by rotating fishing spots every two hours.
I start at the wand end but get no reaction from the fish.
The bait was being taken, so the filefish and pufferfish seemed to be quite active, and after catching a few small red seabream and filefish, two hours had passed and I moved my fishing spot to the tip.
There were bubbles at the tip of the shore, and I cast my line from around them, but there was no response from the greenfish, but I caught a lot of red parrotfish. I then abandoned the shallow water and headed for the deeper water, aiming for the rippling tide offshore, and with just over one and a half rod length, I felt a bite on the line and a greenfish measuring 35cm or larger appeared.
This one makes me happy.

After that, I tried the same pattern, but it didn't work out and time just passed, and two hours passed, so I moved to the middle fishing spot.
It's time for a champon break to rest the fishing spot.
The three of us take a break and chat, and it's past 12 o'clock.
For the remaining two hours, I'll change the rig to semi-guided rigging and continue fishing.
After a few casts I caught a small greenfish the size of the sole of my foot, but it didn't continue.
As usual, the red parrotfish are very active and coming out one after another. I wonder how many I caught.
I aimed for the edge of the current while adjusting the amount of ground bait I scattered, and after a while I got a bite and the float suddenly disappeared into the sea, adding a 30cm+ greenfish.

After that, there were no bites and we called it a day.
As expected, the fishing was tough, but it was a fun day as it also served as practice for the manufacturer's tournament.
The fellows at Saodachi Hanare also caught a number of large fish, and it seems they had fun.
Thank you to everyone who accompanied us for a great day.
