"Fishing End" shun

『釣り納め』 shun

Location: Funama (Kametsubo)

Date and time: 12 30 (8:00-15:30)

Low and high tide 8:54 to 14:59

In search of thick-mouthed greenfish, I took the ferry "Harumimaru" to Funama, located on the Osumi Peninsula.

There are high hopes as some good sized fish have been caught recently.

The second boat departed around 7:15 and disembarked at Kametsubo.

There was a rock sticking out at my feet, but the water was deep offshore and there were apparently some good-sized fish to be caught. The tide was rising and flowing mostly to the right on this day.

The bait used is a blend of "G-MAX," which is excellent for long-distance casting and sinks slowly like a slope, and "Gure Z." "Gure Z" works well with any other fish attractant. Blending it together creates a cohesive lure, increasing the casting distance! Highly recommended.

The item I prepared was the large size "Namaikikun for PRO."

I started with the rig, No. 1.7 main line, No. 1.7 leader, G5 float, fully floating, No. 6 grey hook.

When I scattered the bait, I found lots of goldfinch and scorpionfish.

When I fished in front, there was a bait-stealer, and when I fished at the end of the bubbles coming out from the cape on the right, there was no response.

I changed the float to 0, the line to 1.5, no sinkers, and the hook to a lighter one.

Has the current to the right become stronger?

After drifting for about 2 rods, the float disappeared and I got a hit!

After about five minutes of fighting, I finally managed to catch a 2.5kg Eastern little tuna in the dip net!

My family asked me to get an Eastern little tuna, so I met my quota...lol

Next, I brought the bait-eaters close to my feet and, riding the right-flowing current around the cape, searched for about 2 rods, when I noticed the float sink about 30 cm and hover. I pulled the line and waited, then it started to accelerate!

It was a 46cm greenfish that entertained us with its powerful pull.

When fishing in the strong offshore current, I caught a longtail greenfish of around 30cm and greenfish of around 40cm.

It was a day when the activity of the fish clearly changed depending on the depth, from 2 rods to about one rod length, and the strength of the tide.

Large greenfish were sticking to the rapids at my feet, and it seemed like they were occasionally picking up the ground bait from there.

Thinking about it now, I wonder if I could have caught a bigger fish if I had fished more around the cape...

However, it was a perfect catch to end my fishing this year.

I'm looking forward to fishing this season!
