Black Soul Cup in Kinko Bay Kamikihara

黒魂カップin錦江湾 上木原

On October 10th, I participated in Kizakura's Kurotama Cup in Kinko Bay.
When I went to the registration at 4:00, my senior colleague Shinmasu-san, who has always been so kind to me, gave me my entry number 3, which he said was the winning number, and I was off.

Since it's a cannonball method, I thought a lot about where to go, but I'm not familiar with the inner Kinko Bay area so I decided to avoid it for the time being. I thought about going back to Kagoshima City, but I got a complete blank last week so I avoided that!
In the end, I arrived at Bonotsu at 5:40.
The strategy for fishing in an unfamiliar place is that it's better to cast your rod in a familiar place even if it means spending a short time there rather than getting lost.

I traveled 105km one way.

Fishing started around 6:00.
6:27 The line is moving strangely... What's this? I pulled the line and it was like, "What? It's eating!"
I immediately got 47.1cm!
Maybe I can win today and go to Nagasaki? I was daydreaming like that when at 6:35 I got the same pick!
What came up was "Is this a bit of a size reduction?", as if to say. It was a 27cm frog flounder.

8:59 While hoping for the tide to go down from high tide...
The fish changed and I only caught some silver sea bream and some young red sea bream.
When I fished near the edge, I caught a 15cm long striped porgy, and when I aimed offshore, I caught a lot of sea bream and mullet.

In the end, I caught the black porgy relatively close to the fishing spot, about 15m away.
I cast the ground bait, moved the rig quite a bit from the point where I cast the ground bait, and managed to catch a 41cm fish around 11:00 by slowly sinking and probing. Using the same method and rotating the bait, I caught a 11cm fish at 16:37, and somehow managed to make my limit. Today, the main hit pattern was krill, and the rotation with the Namaiki-kun Yellow was good 🙂
Nerie was heading straight for the Japanese sea bream lol

There were a lot of frog flounder (I caught more than 10) and it was difficult to find a well-shaped fish, but I think the rotation of bait (Nama PRO, Nama Ikikun Yellow, Sweet Shrimp Dumplings, and Meccha-kuu Corn) and the changes in the shape and size of the dough bait and the sinking speed were all factors that led to the catch.

I had to go back from Bonozu to Kokubu, so I finished cleaning my fishing spot and headed to Kokubu at 11:45.
Using the highway, I arrived safely at Kokubu by 13:50 and headed to the weigh-in at 14:00...

I wasn't able to put together the form I wanted, so I thought I'd be lucky to get 5th place, but I ended up in 3rd place!!

Today I received entry number 3 and got 3 fish, placing 3rd with 3.33kg. It was a day loved by the number 3 lol

Thank you to everyone who participated in the tournament and to the staff who planned and ran the event!
