A Largescale blackfish Fishing Practice to Kagoshima City, Wood Port Kamikihara
On Sunday, November 11th, with the autumn rocky shore season about to begin, I went to Mokuzai Port in Kagoshima City to practice sea bream fishing, also exploring a new spot.
The rain was heavy early in the morning, so I started fishing slowly, just after 9:00.
This time I used half a bag of krill, one bag of GMAX, one bag of "GREAT GURE" which is being newly released by Hirokyu this autumn, and 1kg of breadcrumbs to add bulk.
I prepared a large sized Nama-PRO as the bait.
For a while after starting fishing, it was like a one-cast, one-fish situation until I caught about 10 fish.
I realized this wasn't good, so I tried various things, such as changing the position of the ground bait and the point where I cast the rig.
The fish I caught changed from damselfish to wrasse, and just after 9:30 I caught a small 22cm largescale blackfish.
If I can just find a place where the largescale blackfish are feeding, I've got it.
What came was mostly largescale blackfish until the end of fishing.
When I let my guard down with just a size 0 black porgy rod, I was able to see a largescale blackfish over 30 cm long (although just as I was about to put the dip net in, it got away into the tetra pods at my feet), so this is a breakwater with great potential.
Although I wasn't able to catch any fish over 30cm, I still had fun catching a number of fish, mostly small ones with the largest being 29cm, and I called it a day at 13:30pm.
The newly released "GREAT GURE" is packed with a wide variety of ingredients and flavors that will appeal to the gre's visual and olfactory senses.
I think it's thanks to the ground bait that the fish's activity has continued today.
Please give it a try this coming largescale blackfish season.
