Going fishing for filefish with my fishing buddy! Yoshida

釣友とカワハギ釣りへ! 吉田

XNUM X Month X NUM X Day Saturday
I went fishing for filefish at Kougyoumaru in Usuki, where I get my squid fishing gear every year.
All tackle is provided, making this a fishing boat that is friendly even for first-time anglers.
This time, northwest winds are forecast to blow in around noon, causing big waves, so we will only be fishing in the morning.
During the 6 minutes it took to reach the departure point at 30am, my fishing buddy showed me his fishing techniques, including how to bait the line and how to lure the fish, and I was excited!
The bait is from Hirokyu.
・Raw clams
・Salted fresh clams
・Peeled ark shell
Bait is also used according to the situation.
When the fish are not biting, try salted raw clams.
Still it doesn't bite!
When you stop getting bites, it seems like a good idea to use peeled ark shells.
I put out my rod, but on the first cast, I got a bite, but I panicked and lost it!!
No bite on second throw
On the third cast, I got a bite and reeled in the bait, catching a good-sized filefish!
It started out well, but then it didn't continue. According to my fishing buddies and the captain, the water temperature is dropping at this time of year, so the areas where the fish are gathering are thin and the fish aren't biting well!!
When the tide is slack, there are hardly any bites!!
In that case, it's good to use salt-cured clams! As advised, I changed to salt-cured raw clams and got an immediate bite!
The bait has a lot of meat and is well-balanced, so when you drop it and it falls, there is no loss of bait and you often get continuous small bites.
That day, the wind started to pick up around 9 o'clock and it was difficult to maneuver the boat, but we were able to get to the spot and somehow we caught a number of fish before calling it a day before noon.
I caught 18 fish to my fishing friend's 49, so there was quite a difference between the two, but thanks to Hirokyu's bait, it was a fun fishing trip.

It seems that filefish are in season in the fall, so if you have the time, please give it a try.
When you do, be sure to bring some salted fresh clams with you!
