Nomaike Fishing Trip shun

野間池釣行 shun

Location: Nomaike Pond (Akase)

Date and time: June 20 (11:30-17:00)

Mid-tide high tide 10:34 to low tide 16:32

Water temperature 19℃

The water temperature has been dropping nicely.

This time we went to Nomaike with Hirokyu's new tester and were taken care of by Miyomaru.

We set sail at 7am and landed at the famous reef "Akase", with its amazing topography and tidal flow making it a truly first class reef!

We started by setting up our fishing spot closer to the water.

The bait is a blend of small krill, one bag of "Great Grey", and one bag of "Grey Z".

This is one of my personal favorite blends!

Excellent for long distance casting! It is a light fish attractant, so I made a blend that makes the target largescale blackfish float.

For bait, I used the large size ``Namaikikun for pro'', which is good for biting and retains well.

It's also easy to peel their shell!

In addition to this, we also prepared ``Semi-boiled Namaikikun'' to prevent bait stealing.

When I scattered the ground bait from under my feet, I couldn't see any bait-stealers and only saw a largescale blackfish the size of the sole of my foot.

The main current offshore looked like one in which largescale blackfish would snatch the bait, so I spent about an hour searching the main current with an Onaga tackle, but there were no clear bites so I gave up.

I shifted to targeting thick-mouthed largescale blackfish.

I started with Float G5, Mainline No. 1.7, Trace No. 5, and Gure Needle No. 6.

I scattered bait on the water side and aimed for the current in front of me...

When I put a float on the line and searched within 2 rods, I got a suspicious bite, but when I retrieved it, the bait was gone.

So, I removed the lead weight #5 and put my tackle in without a sinker…

The float sinks slowly, the tension slowly travels to the tip of the rod, and you set the hook and get a hit!

After a pleasant fight we caught a largescale blackfish over 40cm!

There were probably a lot of fish, but they were eating in one spot and didn't seem to be biting all at once. I caught three more in the same way, but had two big misses, so I decided to try using a stiff Onaga tackle from noon.

As the tide ebbs, it starts to move nicely, from the channel to the main current offshore...

When I cast from my feet, the tide dived down about two rods and I caught a lot of grunts.

When I aimed directly at the main current offshore, I got in a position to let a well-shaped largescale blackfish take the bait away.

It doesn't matter if I use #3 line or #9 Onaga hook...

If I had used a thinner tackle I might have caught a lot more.

Unfortunately, we didn't catch any long-tailed largescale blackfish, but we still enjoyed Akase's potential to the fullest!

This chum blend can easily fly all the way out to the main current offshore!

Please try it.
