Tajiri Fishing Trip shun

田尻釣行 shun

Location: Tajiri (in front of Kamafuta)

Date and time: February 20 (7:30-15:00)

Mid-tide high tide 10:16 to low tide 16:40

Last time, I went to Tajiri to get revenge on largescale blackfish fishing, and was helped by Tsurumaru.

The rapids we descended to were called "Kamafuta Mae"

This is a promising spot where a club member once caught a 58cm long-tailed largescale blackfish.

The water is not very deep and there are sunken reefs scattered everywhere.

When the offshore tide approaches, you can expect to catch a big fish.

The ground bait is a blend of 1 bag of "Great Gure" and 1 bag of "Gure Zero".

This blend is focused on upper layers and long distance casting.

It sinks slowly and gently.

For bait, I mainly used the large size of the Namaikikun for Pro, which has excellent bite!

I also have "Namaikikun Chinu" which has a high specific gravity.

Set up your fishing spot at the dock and start fishing!

When I scattered the ground bait, many damselfish and small-sized largescale blackfish appeared to move out to the open sea.

The tide is slowly moving to the right (Kinko Bay side)

Start with a G2 float, 2.5-size line, 4-size leader, 9-size Onaga hook, and a semi-floating rig.

I gathered the bait stealers at my feet and searched carefully offshore for about one rod length and found the krill returned with only their shells.

If I use a delicate rig, the largescale blackfish might bite, but I'll use a thick rig here!

About an hour into the fishing, the tide barely moved, and the activity of the bait stealers decreased, so I decided to fish near the edge of the current.

While slowly searching with the fully floating rig, the line started to run and I got a hit!

However, the line broke...and then the line broke again...I used one rod to hook the fish and then the line was cut on the jutting reef to the right.

What a shame! I wonder what it was...

I haven't caught anything for a while and the tide is unstable.

Since the tide was not moving, I decided to target the area near the offshore reef directly.

I changed the bait to ``Namaikikun Chinu'', and because it has a heavy weight, I gave the rig tension to make the bait appeal to the fish near the bottom!

As I was sinking the float and searching near the bottom, I got a hit! Using #4 line, the fish came up easily and it was a 35cm largescale blackfish.

Next came a blue emperor and, to my surprise, a star snapper! As you'd expect from a tropical country, I was able to catch summer fish.

After that, time just passed and it was time to call it a day.

Now that I think about it, it might have been ok to just aim for the edge of the river...

"Kamafuta Mae" is a rapid that I definitely want to ride for night fishing.
