Tajiri Fishing Trip shun

田尻釣行 shun

Location: Tajiri (in front of Unokuso)

Date and time: June 20 (11:30-17:00)

Mid-tide high tide 10:52 to low tide 17:07

This time, I went to Tajiri in search of a large-sized long-tailed largescale blackfish and was assisted by Tsurumaru.

Tajiri is rich in fish, but what's most attractive about it is that you can enjoy leisurely fishing until 16pm when you have to return.

The rapids I got off at were "Unokuso Mae"

There is a submerged reef that extends from my feet out to sea, and another submerged reef in the direction of Nyoze, so if the tide is ideal I'm likely to get a good catch.

The ground bait is a blend of 1 bag of "Great Gure" and 1 bag of "G-MAX".

It is mainly used in the upper to middle layers, is excellent for long-distance casting, and has plenty of volume.

It's a versatile blend that can be used in a variety of fishing situations.

For bait I used my favorite "Namaikikun for pro large size" which is natural and makes the fish bite in perfectly.

In addition to this, we also prepared ``Semi-boiled Namaikikun'' to prevent bait stealing.

When I spread the bait, there were many bait-stealers, such as stripey, small nibbler, and butterflyfish...

The current seems to be slowly moving out to sea towards Unokso.

I spent about two hours trying to catch a large long-tailed largescale blackfsih with a tackle focused on it, but all I had left was a shell.

Because the tide has stopped

I shifted to targeting thick-mouthed largescale blackfish.

Start with a size 0 float, 1.7-size line, 1.7-size leader, size 6 Gure hook, and a 2-rod semi-floating rig.

While searching near the sunken reef towards Onna-se, I got a hit!

Got a 35cm long largescale blackfish

As expected, it was the bait thief, and it's super exciting when just the shell of the bait comes back.

I think if you can synchronize with the bait near the offshore reef, you can get a hit. I caught two more fish this way.

After 11 o'clock, the tide began to slowly flow towards the waterway...I added a G5 lead sinker and, as I was searching with the sinker fully floating, I got a hit at a depth of about one rod length!

Today I got the biggest largescale blackfish, 42cm

I was satisfied with the thick-mouthed largescale blackfish, so from here on I went for a romantic tackle and tried my hand at catching a long-tailed one! When I come to Tajiri, I always want to try and catch it.

Main line No. 3, leader No. 3, Onaga hook No. 9

I searched around the water at my feet and near Nyoze, but only found fish I didn't want like sea chub and scalpel sawtail...

Unfortunately, I had to call it a day.

I later heard that the best tide here is the one that flows out to sea.

It's time for revenge with the longtail...I'm relieved that I caught a largescale blackfish on my first fishing trip.
