This time, I went to Noma Pond to catch autumn largescale blackfish on the rocky shorelines, and was assisted by the ferry Miyomaru.

Departing from the back beach, we descend to Mizugaseki, a rapids with good tidal flow where you can catch longtail tuna and striped bonito.

The bait is a blend of small krill, 1 bag of Great Grey, and 1 bag of G-MAX.

I prepared a "Grey Z" as a spare.

The new product "Great Grey" is excellent for long-distance casting and cohesion, and its colorful ingredients make it very appealing. It also comes in a 2.5kg pack, making it a great value for money. If you can't decide, this is the one to go for!

For the bait, I used the "Namaikikun for Pro" which is good for the fish to bite and retains its shape well! To prevent bait stealing, I prepared "Ami-zuke mukimi".

Cut the bait to the size of the hook so that the sea bream can easily bite.

Fishing Rig

Starting with Float No. 0, mainline No. 1.7, trace No. 1.5, and Gure hook No. 6.

When I scattered the ground bait, I found many damselfish and other small fish, and it seemed that the bait-eaters were still very active.

There is a tide line offshore, a tide that looks like it will attract largescale blackfish.

I scattered 4 to 5 balls of ground bait in the current at my feet and 1 to 2 balls at the tide line, aiming directly at the tide line.

I carefully searched the two-rods depth, but there was no clear bite and just the bait was taken.

So I added a 5 split shot sinker and cast it with full guidance, and got a hit with just one rod!

Easily caught a 35cm greyhound.

It was swallowing the hook...

Maybe I put it in too deep?

I changed the depth back to 2 rods and changed the hook to a small one.

As I carefully matched the ground bait and the attached bait and let it flow, the float will slowly sink...and I heard a 'thunk' at the tip of my rod!

I put in a strong strike and got a hit! It was a great fight and I caught a 40cm long largescale blackfish!

Then, as the tide slackened, the bait stealers started to move out far.

So, I decided to try "Amizuke Mukimi" for the first time...

Because they have a high density and firm flesh, they seem to be able to withstand the onslaught of bait-stealers in the upper layers and allow the bait to remain in the middle layers.

I ignored the bites from the bait-stealing fish and put my rig in the one rod-deep water, and then I got my aimed bite! This was a 1cm largescale blackfish.

I think that if you get the hang of using ``Ami-zuke mukimi'', it will become a very effective bait.

After 12 o'clock, as the rising tide got stronger, the eye part was cut four times at the edge of the tide... I wonder if it was a largescale blackfish? Thinking about it now, I regret not aiming it properly...

I was pleased with my catch, with eight fish, including one the size of the sole of our foot that I released.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming fishing season!
