Even under bad conditions, you can catch largescale blackfish if you use a creative fishing technique. Tatebayashi

On January 25th, I went to a fishing tournament held by the club I belong to at Oseto in Nagasaki Prefecture.

There are reports that the bite of the gre is weak at this time of year, so the blend of ingredients that was carefully selected is

◯ 1 bag of Great Greyhound (2.5kg)

◯ 1 bag of G-Max (3.1 kg)

◯ 1 bag of Ikki-ukase Gure (1.8kg)

◯ 2.5 cubic krill (7.5kg)

◯ 0.5 cubes of shrimp (1.5kg)

The reef I was heading to this time was not very deep, and I had heard there were floating largescale blackfish in the area, so I decided to target the surface layer and tried using a combination of akiami shrimp and Ikki Ukase Gure.

There was a wind of 7 to 10 meters from the northeast, but the newly released Great Gure has the effect of holding the ground bait together well, making it perfect for long-distance casting.

When I started fishing, the strong wind caused the upper tide to slide sideways and pull the tackle, making it difficult to get it to settle as I had hoped...Even when I managed to sink the float, the bait remained behind.

This time, I used a rod float to search from above and found some reaction from largescale blackfish in the upper and middle layers, but they didn't seem to be biting and quickly letting the bait go...

Even when I left it until the fish bites, it only came once in the first flow. Things weren't working well together and I thought I was at my wit's end, but I took a break and sorted out the situation.

The largescale blackfish float to the surface at regular intervals to eat the bait, and if they sense something strange in the bait, they quickly let it go.

Because of this, I used a large float with 00 buoyancy, a No. 5 hook and a full-depth rig, with a line with split shot sinker No. 6 attached, and crossed the rising tide, letting the float sink just below the surface of the water. I waited, and the front line that had been caught by the wind started to run smoothly, and I caught the long-awaited largescale blackfish!

I waited for the moment the wind died down and carefully mended the line, and then I got the same bite and a sea bream was caught, and I finally got the pattern and caught a 47.5cm sea bream, the biggest of the day, in my dip net at the bow level.

As intended, using a blend of ingredients that took shallow water into consideration enabled us to take first place with the total lengths of the three fish measuring 47.5cm, 45.5cm, and 42.5cm, within the competition regulations.

From now on, it will be the season to target large-sized largescale blackfish with plenty of eggs. Although there will be many rough days due to cold waves, please enjoy fishing while keeping safety in mind.
