Year-end fishing tournament Sakawa

The year-end fishing tournament for the Aichokai group I belong to was held in Minamisatsuma Akime, and I went to participate.
We decided to compete over the weight of the three fish, and I was taken to a rocky shore called Shimouse with Nakazono-kun from the same club.
The ground bait used this time was a mixture of small krill and Kizamicco W, with half a bag each of Great Gure, Gre Zero, and G Max, and I also prepared some Bakutobi for when long casts are required.
For bait, I prepared Sashiesa PRO, Twin Pack PRO, and pickled shrimp.
Once the equipment was ready, Nakazono started from the right side of the boat and I started from the left.
I observed the sea while scattering bait at my feet, but I could not see any fish. There was still some swell left.We started fishing in difficult conditions with the waves splashing around our feet.
After about 30 minutes, the bait started to work, and there were bites, but the only ones that bent the rod were the diamondback moths. I tried to aim by shifting the bait and tackle while using distance and close range, but the situation remained the same, and I only caught fish the size of the palm to the sole of my foot!
Nakazono-kun also caught a 30cm long black moth among the many diamondback moths.
As I tweaked the tackle and rotated the bait, I was able to catch filefish, Japanese sea bream and humpback porgy, but I couldn't find any good-sized black porgy so I moved to the tip of the left side, but the situation was the same there and it was full of long-finned catfish.
I cast it far and aimed for a deep shelf, but as usual I lost a few fish.
After that, there is no reaction and time passes.
After 12 o'clock, the tide, which had been wavering, began to flow to the right, so we made a big move to the tip of the right side.
Nakazono's bait is working, and we can see fish shadows near the bottom.
Soon after I started fishing, I was able to catch a series of horse mackerel, but nothing followed, and time just passed, so it was time to call it a day and I decided to put my rod down.
We washed the rocks clean and boarded the boat that was coming to pick us up.
In the overall difficult situation,
Higashinakamura won with 3 fish/1.52kg
Yamashita came in second with 3 fish/1.40kg
Nakazono-kun came in third with 3 fish/1.06kg

Although I was not satisfied with today's catch, which was my last fishing day of 2024, I left the port thinking that the best thing was that the fishing tournament with 11 people, including observers, ended safely without any accidents.
