FIELD REPORT
Southern Oita Prefecture Tsurumi area, targeting greenfish and grunt

On June 21st, I went to the Tsurumi area in southern Oita Prefecture in search of greenfish and grunt.
The ferry was the Hayami Maru. The captain was in good spirits.

We set sail at 5:00, passed the empty Shirasaki area, and headed for Utojima. There were other passengers at Sensuikan and Hanare, and the Hayamimaru started dropping us off from Akahana no Hanare.
After dropping off at Akahana, Chichi no Hiraiwa, Mobushibae, and Komanishi, the two of us headed to the west side of Komatou. It was a rocky shore with a fish farm visible offshore in front of us.
The captain advised us that it would be better to cast far in the rising tide.

・GMAX 3.1kg
・Grezero
・Ikki-ukase gure SP
・Grey Z (for adjustment)
・2 pieces of 3kg krill

The basic mix is Grey Zero and Bakutobi, but this time I wanted to appeal to grunts, so I mixed GMAX, which has a lot of coarse particles, and Grey Zero.
The tide was far away and there was quite a bit of wind, so I thought it would have been better to use Bakutobi, but by finishing it with a Grey Z, you can easily make it useful for a super long-distance casting.
My fishing friend started from the lower level, and I started from the higher point of the boat pier.
The current was flowing out to sea at quite a speed, and the wind was blowing in the same direction, making it quite difficult to fish, so I tried using a sinking rig.
There were also few bait-stealers, so I tried to synchronize the bait with the current, creating several slopes of bait along the tide line, with the idea of matching it with one of the slopes.
I was told that the falling tide wasn't good for fishing, but I got some of the typical rainy season greenfish bites. They were only about 30cm long but were lively.
I had prepared Namaikikun Twin Pack For PRO, Crystal Hard, semi-boiled, and peeled bait as my bait, but the winning bait was the peeled bait soaked in shrimp.
There were many times when I caught a succession of large rabbitfish over 45 cm, but I also caught a few greenfish, and ended up catching five fish measuring 30 cm to 37 cm.
As for the actual grunt, my fishing buddy and I caught only one each, but they were both good-sized.
My fishing friend, who was fishing around the sunken reef in front, caught a good-sized 43cm greenfish.
That day, other places didn't seem to be doing so well, and there seemed to be only one greenfish in the bay.
It seems that small horse mackerel and small mackerel are starting to appear, and from now until July, the rainy greenfish season in Tsurumi Bay will be hot.
Why not go fishing and experience the lively pull of the fish?
