Wakayama Prefecture Shirahama Town Tsubaki Ebisu Ferry Terashita

和歌山県白浜町椿 えびす渡船 寺下

On February 1st, the weather forecast predicted a calm and gentle wind for the first time in a while, so we went to Tsubaki Ebisu Ferry in Shirahama Town.

We set sail around 6:40, and leaving the shore to the boatman, I went alone to Nagashima Island, which is located just after leaving the port.

The moisture content of the ground bait was adjusted so that the Bakutobi and Great Gure would be able to be cast far, and we started fishing using raw krill as bait.

I'll check the situation from around my feet and the nearby Shimori.

There are few bites, but occasionally small grunt and northern pufferfish are caught.

I scattered a lot of ground bait in front of the bait-eaters to separate them and finally caught a palm-sized largescale blackfish. By using the same pattern, I caught a few more, but they weren't any bigger. When I gradually deepened the water, I started to catch some wrasse.

I changed my target spot offshore.

There are a lot of mullet lurking offshore, and I searched up to the middle layer, but the bait just comes back.

The rocks on either side seemed to be rough as well, but there were no signs of the rod being bent.

I changed the tackle and used a 20g float and a soft, well-retaining bait, the Namaiki-kun PRO L, and cast it as far as I could see it.

About one rod offshore the float disappeared completely and finally a 30cm plus largescale blackfish did bite, and in the same pattern, a few more 30cm plus largescale blackfish bent the rod, and once again, thanks to the long-distance casting power of the Bakutobi and Great Gure, I was able to see some good-sized largescale blackfish.
