Wakayama Kushimoto Izumo Fishing Trip Terashita
On January 26th, I went to Izumo Taniguchi Ferry with a total of three people, including a fishing friend.
There was a fishing tournament going on that day, so the three of us set out on the third trip, a leisurely morning just before 7am, and left it up to the boatman to take us to Nagashima Island offshore.
There were waves and swells on the day, so we set up our fishing spot a little lower than the tip and started fishing.

Strong winds were forecast, so we used Bakutobi and Great Gure to adjust the moisture and made the ground bait stick together.
The tide is rising, and I search around my feet, in the currents in front, at the shallow end, and at the deep end, but there is no response from the fish and time passes.
The situation was tough, as there were no visible reefs or bent rods.
I changed my target to offshore and cast my bait far out.
There was a wind from the side, but the long casting power of the Bakutobi and Great Gure allowed me to cast it into the desired spot without being defeated by the wind, and I changed the bait to Namaikikun Pro, which is softer and less likely to come off, and, focusing on the shallow water offshore, I let the bait drift so far that I could no longer see the float. I felt a flick on the line, and after some careful fighting, a good-sized long-tailed largescale blackfish came up to the surface.
Using the same pattern, I caught two long-tailed largescale blackfish about 30cm long, then it was quiet again. About an hour before I called it a day, I saw a few fish at my feet, so I changed the tackle again, using smaller hooks and changing the bait from Namaiki-kun Pro L to M, and caught two more largescale blackfish about 30cm long on the shallow water nearby. Then, I called it a day. The catch on each reef was tough overall, but I was able to see some largescale blackfish ranging from 30~43.5cm thanks to Bakutobi, Great Gure, and Namaiki-kun.
