Fishing for sillago with pocket bait in Fukiagehama Hanadou

ポケベイトでキス釣りin吹上浜 花堂

I went to Fukiagehama, one of the three largest sand dunes in Japan, with my daughter to go fishing for Japanese sillago using the all-purpose bait for casting fishing, "Pokebait." The view of the longest sand dune in Japan, stretching 47km, is full of spaciousness.
Seeing this view in front of me, my 4-year-old daughter was extremely excited and made me laugh by asking, "Where are the whales? Where's the tuna?"
Set an L-scale scale No. 18 and three hooks on the casting rod and attach some Pokekrill (poke bait) to the hook as bait.
The features of Pocket Bait are that it is easy to attach, your hands won't get dirty, and fish will eat it well. It has all three features.
In my case, I tried two different ways to attach the bait. First, I stuck the hook all the way to the tip so that it becomes hidden. The second way was to stick the tip out a little and cut the pokebait to the desired length so that the pokebait can wiggle. It was fun to try which one is more appealing to fish.

I cast the tackle and reeled it in with my daughter. She seemed to be having a lot of fun. When the sillago got hooked and pulled it onto the beach, she was surprised to see that she had caught three in a row, screaming "Oh no, that's scary!"

That's because the size was good that day, with many fish of around 20 cm biting. We spent about two hours fishing for the sillago, and the longest we caught was 21 cm, which was a fun memory for my daughter and I.

It was good to catch and good to eat the sillago. I took it home and enjoyed it as tempura.
Why don't you go out for some whiting fishing with your family or friends and bring some pocket bait?
