On March 1st, I participated in the Kyushu Magurekai Branch Fishing Tournament. Two people from each branch, three black porgy over 25cm, and a total weight limit of six fish! The tournament briefing and pairings were held just after 4:00 AM, and we boarded the Ryusei ferry just after 5:00 AM. I was with Mr. Nagamatsu from the Fukuoka branch, and we headed to a rocky shore called Lowatashi!

Last week, on February 17th, my coworker, Mr. M, told me, "I caught a 45cm black porgy from the tetrapods outside the harbor!" Since I had some free time in the morning on the 17th, I decided to go fishing. I headed to the tetrapods outside Wakimoto Port in Akune City. It would be a pain to lug my gear around, and the tetrapods were so big, I wondered if it would be difficult to move around, so I gave up on the tetrapod area and decided to cast my rod from a nearby small breakwater.

On December 30th, I participated in the Aitsuumi Year-End Fishing Tournament held in Funama, Osumi Peninsula, Kagoshima Prefecture. This time, eight people, including an observer, competed for the weight of three black porgy. We boarded the ferry Jimimaru and set sail just after 7:30 AM. I and observer Fukagawa set sail at Arasaki. I anchored the boat, while Fukagawa cast his rod at a point offshore to the right. We had mixed the bait in advance, so we added seawater, stirred it, and prepared the tackle while we continued baiting.

On December 8th, I went fishing for black porgy on the Jimi Maru in Funama, Osumi Peninsula. We had originally planned to go to Torishima Island No. 4, but had to give up due to swells! We then went to Hachigase! The footing was poor, and I had never had a good experience fishing in the rapids. I wondered what would happen. This time, the swell washed away my fishing bucket, and while retrieving the black porgy I had been keeping alive in the tide pool, I slipped and got soaked in my boots. To top it off, I cut my hand on an oyster. It was a complete disaster!

After finishing work at 23pm yesterday, I headed for Hirose Embankment in Kirishima City overnight.
Although it's out of season, I'll try to catch horse mackerel at night, red sea bream at dawn, and then black porgy.
I participated in the black porgy fishing tournament held by Aichokai, which I belong to.
This time, everyone is free to choose their own fishing spot.
I was invited by Hanadou and went to Nagahama Fishing Port in Hayato-cho, Kirishima City on March 22nd.
